We’re Here for All of You

Explore Your Identity
& Be Fully Seen

At The Better You Institute, we believe our LGBTQIA+ therapy clients deserve more than tolerance. You deserve therapy that sees your whole identity and understands what it actually takes to thrive as an LGBTQIA+ person in the world. That means space to explore both identity and orientation, without assumption or timeline. It means real support for the trauma that can come from living in a world where safety can feel foreign. Minority stress, rejection, discrimination, or the exhaustion of code-switching just to get through a day can be exhausting. We are here to create a safe space for your genuine self. Our therapy goes beyond survival. We provide real tools for building a genuinely connected, thriving life as who you actually are, no performance, masking, or code-switching.

Therapy for the Real You

Our LGBTQIA+ therapy isn’t just inclusive; it’s trauma-informed, intersectional, and built to help you actually feel safe in your own identity, not just understand it intellectually. This is deep, relational work designed for real, lasting change.

02

Get Matched With Your Provider

Finding the right therapist shouldn’t be a guessing game. Before you’re ever paired with a clinician, we spend real time with you on the phone, not a five-minute intake, an actual conversation about what’s bringing you in, what hasn’t worked before, and what you actually need from a therapist to feel safe enough to do this work. We talk through style: do you want someone who challenges you directly, or someone who moves more slowly and gently? We also factor in what matters to you in terms of gender, race, sexual orientation, and lived experience, because who you’re paired with shapes how much you’re able to show up. This isn’t a quiz you fill out and hope for the best. It’s a real conversation, with a real person, so the match we make is one you can actually trust.

03

Start Your Sessions

This is where the real work happens. Sessions aren’t just a space to talk about what’s going on; they’re a space where your therapist works with you in real time, using the relationship itself to help you feel something shift, not just understand it intellectually. You’ll build consistency and trust with your therapist over time, and instead of leaving each session with more insight to sit with, you’ll leave having actually practiced feeling different, so the change holds up outside the room, not just inside it.

04
Track Your Progress

Change isn’t a straight line, so we won’t just set a plan and disappear. We check in regularly to track not just whether your symptoms have eased, but whether you’re actually feeling different (more present, grounded, intentional, more like yourself) in the moments that matter most. If something isn’t working, we adjust together. Therapy is a living process, not a fixed program, so the therapy keeps evolving with you long after the first few sessions.
