Mental Health Counseling. She is supervised by Nitasha Strait, Ph.D., M.Ed., MA, LMFT, CST, and receives classroom consultations through Villanova University.
I have been drawn to the counseling profession ever since high school. Being able to
work closely with others to help them gain the necessary tools and strategies to combat their
mental health difficulties is immensely important work. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to practice. My goal is to help normalize therapy and reduce the stigma. We have
made a lot of progress these past few years. I feel it is crucial to keep up this progress for the
betterment of us all.
As a Philadelphia resident now for five years, I am elated to be practicing my dream
profession in the city which I love the most. I cater to a myriad of clients in order to broaden my
therapeutic horizons, but I have a special interest in LGBTQIA+ clients. I am a member of the
community myself and am well aware of the mental health disparities which exist in our
community.
My focus involves working with clients in outpatient settings and employing strategies from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy when helpful. I aim to provide an authentic understanding and an empathetic ear to all those who wish to be heard as we work together through sessions and make progress toward a more peaceful state of mind. I view the counselor- client relationship as crucial to the effectiveness of therapy and hope to build trust and rapport to better assist clients in their unique needs.
I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology and graduated cum laude from Temple
University nearby in North Philadelphia. I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in clinical
mental health counseling from Villanova University and have enjoyed every minute of it thus
far. I plan to begin working toward my licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor right after
graduation to eventually become a licensed therapist in the lovely commonwealth of Pennsylvania. I additionally hope to go on to become a certified sex therapist, as I supplemented
my bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies.
