Transparent Fee Structure

Invest In Your Growth

At The Better You Institute, we believe exceptional care is worth investing in. Our fees are transparent and reflect the caliber of clinician you’re working with. We are highly trained therapists who deliver care tailored for people who take their growth seriously. We offer flexible scheduling, including evening and weekend appointments for working professionals, because we know your time is valuable and your career doesn’t pause for therapy. And while we’re a private-pay practice, we make it seamless to use your out-of-network benefits, so investing in yourself doesn’t mean navigating red tape. Explore the details below to find the right fit for you.

At The Better You Institute, transparency is a priority. You should never have to guess what you’re paying for or why. Our rates range from $90 to $280 per session, reflecting each clinician’s level of experience, training, and specialization. We also believe quality psychotherapy shouldn’t be out of reach, which is why we offer a limited number of reduced-fee openings and a Pay What You Can program for those who qualify.

We understand the demands that come with executive roles, high-pressure careers, and professions like law and medicine. That’s why we offer flexible scheduling, including evening and weekend appointments, so accessing therapy fits into your routine without compromising your work or the time you need with family and friends. While many therapists require you to schedule weekly at the same time, we know that’s not feasible for many of our clients given the demands of their careers. We will work with you to find a scheduling routine that works for your schedule.

Our team is well-versed in providing confidential, expert support to professionals in executive, corporate, legal, and medical fields, where discretion isn’t optional. We’ve intentionally chosen to remain a private-pay practice, so by default, your care isn’t shared with an insurance company — no diagnosis codes on a claims file, no treatment details in someone else’s database, unless you choose to file for out-of-network reimbursement yourself. Our office is designed to match that same standard: a discreet, secure environment for real personal and professional growth.

We partner with a 3rd party, Thrizer.com*, to make out-of-network benefits feel in-network. The moment you pay, Thrizer files the claim and advances your expected reimbursement, so your out-of-pocket ends up only being your coinsurance, not the full session fee, with no superbills, no waiting weeks for a check. Just concierge-level care, matched with concierge-level billing.

*To process your reimbursement, Thrizer shares your diagnosis and scheduling details with your insurance company on your behalf. We’ve found this out-of-network process to be significantly less invasive than typical in-network billing, which usually requires far more detailed treatment information over the course of care.

At The Better You Institute, transparency is part of our concierge-level care. Under the federal No Surprises Act, you’re entitled to a Good Faith Estimate of the cost of services before your first session — so you’ll know your appointment fee upfront, before you ever commit to care.

That means:

  • No surprise charges. You’ll receive a clear, written estimate of session costs before you begin.
  • No unexpected bills for the care you receive. You’re only charged for the appointments you actually attend.

Separately, our cancellation policy: appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed entirely, are subject to the full session fee.

Sliding Scale & Reduced Fees

Accessible Therapy
For Your Budget

We believe high-quality, long-term therapy should be accessible. The Better You Institute offers reduced-fee therapy slots based on annual household income and expenses. Each clinician reserves limited spaces for those needing financial flexibility. To apply for sliding scale therapy, complete our Reduced Fee Application Form and we’ll work with you to find a manageable rate.

We believe that quality care and psychotherapy should be accessible to everyone. We cannot avoid certain costs due to the business’s overhead, including ensuring our team gets compensated appropriately. However, we try to work with you to get a manageable fee. Each clinician has a set number of client slots at a reduced cost. You can fill out our Reduced Fee Application Form if you need financial assistance. The reduced fee calculation is based on total annual family income and expenses.

Victims Compensation Assistance Program
If you are a survivor of a crime in Pennsylvania, we are here to offer you a comforting message and a ray of hope. The Pennsylvania Senate recently passed a bill introducing an important program specifically designed to provide counseling services for victims of a crime: sexual assault, physical abuse, mental or emotional abuse, and crime.

This program covers the expenses of therapy services (up to $10,000) that you may require on your path to recovery. We understand that seeking healing can often come with financial barriers, but this program aims to remove those obstacles. By taking advantage of this opportunity, you can access qualified therapists, like the clinicians on our team, who will help guide you through the healing process. Remember, you are not alone in this journey.

Let this program be a source of comfort and support, enabling you to embark on a path of healing and restoration.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Services

Offering EAP for
Employee Wellness

At the Better You Institute, we partner with Employee Assistance Program (EAP) companies to offer services designed to help you manage stress, anxiety, relationships, and work-related challenges.

Our solution-focused counseling supports well-being and performance through brief, strategic sessions. Our EAP therapy programs meet your needs with professional, timely mental health support.

Reach out to see if we are contracted with your EAP company or inquire within your HR department.

Our EAP services offer a comprehensive range of support services, including individual counseling for stress management, coping strategies, relationships, and more. We also provide couples therapy, family therapy, and child or teen therapy. Whether you are dealing with personal issues, work-related stressors, or simply seeking guidance for self-improvement, our team of experienced therapists is here to provide confidential and compassionate support tailored to you and your goals.

Your employer partners with a 3rd party EAP company to connect you to us. The two EAP agencies we partner with are ERC Counselors & Consultants and Health Advocate. Employees can access free (paid for by your employer) counseling services through scheduled appointments, either in person or virtually, based on their preferences, by reaching out to their EAP and getting paired with us.

Typically, our clients get anywhere from 3 to 8 sessions paid for by their employer through their EAP. Our goal is to empower employees to overcome challenges, enhance well-being, and contribute to a healthier, more productive life. While a few sessions can be insightful, we have found that most EAP clients transition into long-term clients because their well-being needs extend beyond the employer-paid EAP sessions.

Invest in your mental health, contact us today to learn more about our EAP programs and how it can benefit you and support your mental health journey.

We are partnered with ERC Counselors & Consultants and Health Advocates. Check with your company to see if they are partnered with one of these companies and if you have an EAP available to you.

Do all of your psychotherapists see EAP clients for therapy in Philadelphia?

Yes, all of our master’s and doctoral therapists take EAP clients. Our interns do not see EAP clients.
